For the second Dibbe Duo culinary adventures with Urlaub Saarland, I’m headed to Perl in Saarland, a town on the border to Luxembourg and France. I’m meeting up with Freddy at Maimühle hotel and restaurant, to cook a regional comfort dish: Kappes Teerdisch. It’s a really humble dish that is perfect for autumn and winter: buttery mashed potatoes are mixed with sauerkraut and topped with smoked meats. I’ve suggested to add a dollop of mustard to it all, as I think we can never have enough mustard in our lives (and it goes perfect with smoked meat).
