Alors que les cartouches de la norme LTO-9 (24 To\/60 To compress\u00e9s) devraient arriver d\u2019ici quelques mois sur le march\u00e9 afin de supplanter la technologie LTO-8 actuelle (12 To\/30 To compress\u00e9s), Fujifilm d\u00e9voile des chiffres impressionnants pour la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration LTO-13.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"figure text-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-img img-responsive-l\" src=\"https:\/\/img.bfmtv.com\/c\/650\/303\/179\/7fb2fde9a8c57ec269efafcc90043.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"figure-caption figcaption color-txt-0 title-xs hidden-xs\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Pr\u00e9vue pour arriver \u00e0 l\u2019horizon 2032, cette nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de cassettes \u00e0 bande magn\u00e9tique stockera 384 To de donn\u00e9es non compress\u00e9es. Mais comme de nombreux utilisateurs ont recourt \u00e0 la compression de donn\u00e9es, Fujifilm communique aussi le chiffre de 960 To en compression 2,5:1, soit quasiment 1 p\u00e9taoctet par cartouche\u00a0!<\/p>\n<p>Loin d\u2019\u00eatre morte, la technologie de stockage sur bande magn\u00e9tique est toujours en vie et a la faveur des administrations et entreprises notamment pour le stockage long terme, le stockage froid ou encore le stockage hors ligne. Si l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux donn\u00e9es est plus lent qu\u2019avec les technologies \u00e0 plateau \u2013 et infiniment plus lent que les SSD \u2013 le co\u00fbt au t\u00e9raoctet est largement inf\u00e9rieur, les m\u00e9diums sont plus solides et plus stables dans le temps.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"figure text-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"article-img img-responsive-l\" src=\"https:\/\/img.bfmtv.com\/c\/927\/498\/898\/8dd52db334c129b83b52144c1d712.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"figure-caption figcaption color-txt-0 title-xs hidden-xs\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Et surtout, les capacit\u00e9s de stockage sont largement sup\u00e9rieures.\u00a0Alors que les fabricants de disques durs tablent sur un maximum de\u00a050 To \u00e0 l\u2019horizon 2026, la technologie de bandes magn\u00e9tiques LTO devrait offrir de 48To\/120To (LTO-10) \u00e0 96To\/240To (LTO-11), selon le bon d\u00e9roulement de la feuille de route du consortium.<br \/>Une feuille de route qui devra r\u00e9aliser un saut technologique majeur pour atteindre les objectifs de la norme LTO-14\u00a0: sur le papier, les promesses de sont de 768To\/1920To par cartouche.
